“The bonsai workshop was excellent. From providing us with all the resources to the instruction and education it was amazing. You found something I could do at home, while isolating, that I had never tried before. The healing gardens efforts to provide us with wonderful opportunities while this pandemic continues is beyond helpful. I appreciate all of you for brainstorming. I am so glad to have found this amazing space.”… September 30th 2020 review of Workshop for the Healing Garden, Harvard, Ma

Animal wonders are everywhere. Every animal is a wonder that helps remind us of our own wonderfulness. All of nature is our totem. Every animal. Every plant. Every tree. Every time we see the uniqueness of one animal, we also discover something new and unique about ourselves.
“A totem is any object, animal or being to whose energy you feel connected to during your life. We are not limited to just one and every animal has a powerful spirit that we can call upon to draw strength and comfort from if we open our heart and mind to the wisdom of the animal world. Whether it is the Coyote who urges us to adapt to changing circumstances, the Lions who embody strength and courage or the Otter who reminds us to remember to take time to play, lessons can be learned from all.” ~ Ted Andrews author of Animal Speak The Spiritual & Magical Powers of Creatures Great & Small

~ Winner of the 2017 Creative Child Magazine Preferred Choice Award
~ Winner of the 2015 Gelett Burgess Award for Best Intercultural Book
~ Winner of the 2015 Silver Evergreen Medal for World Peace
This true children’s story is told by a little bonsai tree, called Miyajima, that lived with the same family in the Japanese city of Hiroshima for more than 300 years before being donated to the National Arboretum in Washington DC in 1976 as a gesture of friendship between America and Japan to celebrate the American Bicentennial.
Fantasy Plantings
Fantasy Bonsai Groves are a favorite. From soldier battle grounds to fairy gardens, possibilities are endless. (Recommended age is 9+)

Do You See What I See?
Sometimes our eyes deceive us … or do they? For as long as I can remember, I’ve always seen human forms in trees. Held within their growth rings are stories of fire and drought, plague and plenty. They are a witness to history and there are certainly life forces within them. Through this imaginative journey into the hidden designs and forms of the forest, we will try to see the stories they are trying to tell as we exercise our abilities to see the unseen. (Recommended age is 9+)

Kintsugi : The Art of Precious Scars
In this workshop we will explore the Centuries-Old Japanese tradition of mending broken ceramics with gold and how it can be used to heal ourselves. These “golden seams” are believed to make the pieces more precious and valuable. Each one of us has a story to tell. We will create journals, artwork and succulent plantings in pots that we have painted to help us represent our scars as symbols of value and to remind us of our journey and triumph of all that we have overcome. (Recommended age is 13+)
